What we collect

Account data: your Google email address and the account identifier Google gives us. We use this to sign you in and attribute your manuscripts to you.
Manuscript content: the audio you record, the transcribed text, the cleaned text, your manual edits, and any chapter / book metadata you set. Stored encrypted at rest on Supabase (Postgres + Storage).
Usage telemetry: per-request logs of how much audio was transcribed, how many tokens cleanup used, and at-cost spend. Used so we can calculate pricing and so you can see your own usage in Settings.
Standard server logs: request paths, IP, user agent — kept for short periods for debugging and abuse prevention.

We share data only with the service providers that operate Dictabook on our behalf ("processors"), and only as needed to run the app:

Third-party AI processors — your audio and text are sent to AI providers to produce transcripts and to clean up or rework your manuscript. This is done under API terms that do not use your content to train models.
Cloud infrastructure providers — application hosting, database, authentication, and encrypted audio storage.
Sign-in provider — used only to authenticate you. They see the sign-in event; we don't share your manuscripts with them.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to train models.

Export: use the Export EPUB / Export TXT features any time to get your manuscript out.
Deletion: email hello@dictabook.app and we'll erase your account, manuscripts, recordings, and usage logs within 30 days.
Access: ask us for a dump of what's tied to your account; same email.
EU residents: you have additional rights under GDPR (rectification, data portability, lodging complaints with your supervisory authority). Contact us to exercise them.

Dictabook sets only authentication cookies required to keep you signed in. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.

Dictabook is not for users under 16.
